Day 2 of writing a boring story

Roy and Stephanie are a lovely couple living in Castelmezzano. They met when they were young, married early, and are now in their 60s. One day, Stephanie received a call from her best friend, who invited her to the city.

Without informing her husband, Stephanie drove off to the gathering. In the afternoon, she called Roy, and everything seemed fine. However, when she returned home in the evening, she saw police cars and an ambulance parked in front of the house.

Panicking, she asked what had happened, to which an officer asked, "When was the last time you spoke to Roy?"

Stephanie replied, "I called him around noon. He told me to just enjoy the gathering and said he wanted some peace and quiet to hang around the house."

The officer sighed, "Oh Lord... he hung himself in the living room. The neighbors heard the dog barking and notified us." Hearing this, Stephanie fainted at the scene. (1650, 29/9/26)

Day 1 of writing a boring story

In Lalaland, Mr Ng was the newly elected Mayor. He started his political career as a motivational speaker. Every time he gave a speech, he would start with: "In the name of democracy, we should..."

After eight years as Mayor, he reached retirement age and quit politics. When asked about his greatest achievement, he proudly said, "Lalaland only has a population of 10,000, but I passed a law stating that if 10% of the citizens sign a petition, the city can hold a referendum."

The day after he stepped down, the city received a petition to expel Mr Ng from Lalaland and send him to Lanjiao Land. Voter turnout reached 85%, with 70% voting in favor of his expulsion. One citizen told reporters, "We elected you to do the job, but you always passed the buck back to us. You're just an actor and belong in another city!"

The lesson here: Always be wary of people who constantly talk about "democracy" in their speeches. More often than not, they are just lazy and all talk, no action. (0947, 23/9/2026)
